How did the business begin?

Baxter Kelly was originally founded by Ian Baxter and Joe Kelly. They worked together at VNR Contracting before deciding to go into business themselves, and Baxter Kelly Ltd officially opened for business on 15th November 2015, with about half a dozen employees. Nearly four years later, we’re nearing forty employees working the length and breadth of the country.

We are proud to have won the Insulation and Fabric Installers/Contractors category at the West Midlands Energy Efficiency Awards two years in a row; at the National Awards, we were awarded a special commendation in the same category last year, and the Bronze award this year.

The directors would like to nominate Dan Ellens, who has risen to the challenge of fresh responsibility, and worked hard to keep operations running smoothly at all levels of the business.

Why did you choose GDGC as your Insurance Back Guarantee provider?

We chose GDGC because you came highly recommended by various people we knew in the industry, and you made it easy to get involved.

Who is your “star employee” and why?

I would like to suggest Kyle Edwards our Installation Manager. He always goes the extra mile to help our customers and his wealth of technical knowledge is outstanding. Whether its organising installers to be on site with builders, or helping customers with setting up manufacturers apps, he can always be relied on. Kyle’s warm and compassionate manner is often appreciated by customers.

Why did you choose GDGC as your Insurance Back Guarantee provider?

We were with another insurance company but they were being a bit slow with certain aspects so we thought it time to have a look around the market. GDGC were actually recommended to us by another solar installer nearby.

Ashburn Stoves

How did the business begin?

Ashburn Stoves was started after we fit a renewable heating system in our own home. It made such a difference to our heating bills and we are very keen on the environmental benefits. We wanted to pass this on to others.

Tell us about Ashburn Stoves and Heating?

Ashburn have over 30 years experience fitting central heating into old properties throughout the Dales, including Gas, Oil, LPG and more recently renewable heating such as Biomass, Solar and Heat Pumps. We want to help reduce the carbon footprint of the UK by encouraging customer to include renewable energy products in their homes.

Who is your Star Employee and why?

Bruce Mills

Bruce is our technical manager. Bruce is an old school engineer who has been fitting heating systems into the remote areas of the Yorkshire Dales for over 30 years. He has an in-depth understanding of renewable heating technologies.

Steve Finch

Steve takes care of the website and marketing at Ashburn Stoves. He addresses the challenges of keeping the company in the public mind, on-line and off-line. Renewable technologies are an ‘unknown’ to the majority of the public and establishing a dialogue which gets their interest and gives them confidence requires constant work.
